I commend you on your choice of having one of these properly fitted mouthguards. You do not need to become a patient of record in our office to receive this service. You may already know the design and colors that you want. We can make your custom mouthguard in the office with any special designs that you have in mind. Even if you don’t know yet exactly what design you want, we can guide you through the process and show you some examples to help you decide. Price will depend on the design, number of colors, number of layers needed for the desired thickness, and any complicated images and/or text added. See the price list below for a guide. A simple, one color, plain sports mouthguard starts at $150 in the office.

The first appointment will consist of making a model of your mouth by taking a dental impression. Dr Howard will then need about 1 week to make and form the soft plastic over your model and make the mouthguard. Then return for the mouthguard to be tried in to make sure it fits well, making any adjustments as needed, and setting the bite in the proper position.
